As the
battle between Vampires and Lycans(Werewolves) spans a century, the
blood begins
to spill out onto the streets of the real
world. Selene is a protector, or 'Death Dealer', of the vampires. As
for the Lycans, their goal is to combine the blood of vampires and
werewolves to create
a creature so powerful that no one could stop it. That's where Michael
comes in. He is the descendant of a powerful king, the only man to
be that such creature and in return be controlled by the Lycans to
destroy all vampires. Selene is forced to awaken
Viktor from his sleep, against the rules, in order to save herself and
the lives of vampires everywhere.
Very great first
venture for freshman director Len Wiseman. Definitely a fan favorite if
you enjoyed any of The Crow films,
Blade, Equilibrium, etc. I was very suprised at Kate Beckinsale's
performance she was much better than I had
anticipated. The only major thing I didn't like was Shane Brolly's
performance in the movie. He made vampires look
like a bunch of scared children. The role should have been cast to a
stronger male actor not one who would
shame the entire vampire nation. Overall definitely one to see and
hopefully we'll get to see a sequel in the near
future.
